The Giant Wheel Company, based in Bolton, brought a spectacular attraction to Blackburn town centre with the installation of a towering 50-metre Ferris wheel. Standing from 3rd May to 8th June 2025 in Cathedral Square, the impressive structure — as tall as 11 stacked double-decker buses — is the largest transportable wheel in the UK.

Visible from multiple vantage points across the town, the wheel quickly became a landmark and talking point for visitors and locals alike. Featuring 36 enclosed gondolas, each capable of holding up to six people, the ride offered panoramic views of Blackburn from above.

This particular wheel is one of the largest in the company’s fleet and has previously drawn crowds at major locations and events such as the Trafford Centre, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, and the Isle of Wight Festival.
